The Story of the Tooth

In early January TJ and Anna went off to school. It was Anna's first day. (we do drop ins at TJ's school) Right at 9 I got a call. I was worried it was about Anna but the principle started out by saying TJ was fine. She explained he fell off a toy and hit his face. She thought his tooth might be lose but he wasn't really complaining and just wanted to sit in the office because he could watch his baby Anna play across the hall.

When Tim picked up the kids he sent me this picture.

It was a shock. He wasn't really complaining but by the time he was home from school he wouldn't talk, he wouldn't close his mouth, and he would not eat anything. When I touched the tooth it wouldn't move so it wasn't loose.

After a week the swelling and scrapes were gone but his tooth was now shifting. It still couldn't be moved by touch.

It basically looked like he had lost his tooth and it was just growing back. This wasn't hurting him at all and he never complained about it. By this point we decided to take him in. His gums were slightly swollen and we thought it would be best just to make sure it was all ok.

He went to the dentist and the dentist said he sees this all the time but not a tooth that went up that far. He prescribed an antibiotic and scheduled an appointment for 10 days later. He wanted to make sure it wouldn't come down before he pulled it.

They have movies playing for the kids
He did fantastic as he did a cleaning and examined TJ's teeth. I had told TJ the night before to obey the dentist and to not bite him. He stopped Tim before they walked in and said "daddy, I don't want to bite the dentist" all Tim could do was laugh and tell him, "that is nice of you buddy. You'll have to make sure you keep your mouth open" Tim took him to the dollar store after wards because he was so good.

This was just a few days after he started the medicine. You can tell it is moving down.
This picture was taken the day he went to the dentist. The Dentist was shocked at how well it had moved and healed. Prayers have worked on this guy. The dentist had talked to some other dentists to find out what to do, they were all saying to do whatever he could to keep his tooth in there.

And finally here he is a few days ago. It is slightly different but barely noticeable. Some days you can see a slight discoloration but that is from nerve damage.

He is so handsome and has such beautiful eyes and smile.  Love you TJ!

Ear Infection and Cold

Last week TJ's tball game was at 7:15 on a Thursday night. Obviously the person who created the schedule does not know any 3 year olds, especially my 3 year old. TJ starts getting ready for bed at 7:30 and is asleep by 8. Well he started crumbling before we even left the house. Poor kid was tired and Monday we found out he had an ear infection. He has been on his antibiotics for 4 days now and is sooo much better.

He has a game tonight and its much earlier and he is rested and not sick like he was last week. Praying for a better experience then what we did last week.

This is how he spent the game last week
He and Anna went to the doctor on Monday and he was diagnosed with a ear infection. This is the first time he has had one and Anna has a cold. Both kids are doing much better.

I must go now. We have to leave for TJ's game tonight.

Allergies

Poor Miss Anna is suffering from Allergies. If she stays inside the house she seems to be ok but literally the second we walk outside it flairs up. Seeing how it’s beautiful it is outside, this is hard to accomplish. Once she goes outside we wash her head, face and hands off so when she lies down she won’t breathe it all in.

Anything that goes outside she won’t use again. So if she lays on a blanket outside or we put a blanket over the carrier, it doesn’t get put around her once we go back inside. Her sheets stay clean so if she goes down for a nap with clothes on that she went outside in, then the next time she lays down she’ll have clean sheets. So at least when she comes inside, she’ll have a place to recover

Hopefully this won’t last long and she can be outside and play without any issues. Us Leckie’s love the outside and being cooped up is NO FUN! and to top it off...she is teething also.

Here she is, isn’t she so pathetic looking:

Update on Tim's Head

Just wanted to give a quick update on Tim's head. He went to see the neurologist on Thursday of last week and he recommended Tim have a few more tests done....we were expecting this. He should be having these tests this week.

He went to get his stitches out on Friday and the doctor released him to full duty at work. YAH!! Tim was very excited about this. He can't stand being able to do his part at work. All I heard about his day today is his head didn't hurt at all and he was busy. Seems everything is getting back to normal.

He still needs prayers as he goes through more recovery and through further testing.

Thanks for everything prayed so far we have felt everyone of them.

Allergies...ugh

Since we did are bedroom flooring last Saturday, T.J. woke up all snotty and coughing on Sunday morning. I knew it was the dust and dirt in the house from pulling up the carpet.

TJ doesn't ever really get allergies. He just gets nasty colds that last for days. I can always tell when he has allergy problems versus colds. His eyes get runny and red when he has allergies (just like his Mum and Dadt).

Tuesday night I would say was the worst. He started to develop a fever that afternoon. My parents were out of town so he was going to daycare this last week. Of course if he had a fever he couldn't go back. We both couldn't miss anywork and our brains were going crazy trying to think of a plan. The fever didn't come back and he was able to go back to daycare he just slept a ton the next few days.

Finally Wednesday night we found out about how much benadryl we could give him. The decongestant and Tylenol weren't helping with fighting the allergy they were just keeping things from getting stuck in his sinus'. Thursday morning he woke up SOO much better.

He still has a little runny nose but it isn't affecting him at all. I've been cleaning the house like crazy over and over again.

Next time we do flooring he won't be here.

Croup

UGH! Monday TJ was acting like he was getting sick. He had a little runny nose and his cheeks were a little red. Tuesday his nose wasn’t really running but you could tell he wasn’t feeling well. His breathing was more like wheezing, his cheeks were red and you could tell in his eyes that he wasn’t doing well. We thought it was allergies since he went on a walk that morning and got worst after the walk and then when we went on a bike ride that night it flared up again. He had been sleeping with a  humidifier and I was putting baby vapor rub on him to help with his breathing.

Yesterday morning when I went and got him up his breathing was so bad it was really scaring me. Then when we were in the car he started coughing real bad. So I set him an appointment with the doctor. My main concern was his breathing. It’s only been that bad when he is having trouble with a  cold but he had no signs of a cold.

Well the diagnosis is croup. He was prescribed two medicines, one to take as needed and the other to take for the next five days. The one he needs to take as needed is albuteral. The albuteral is to help with the breathing. It’s basically a liquid inhaler. We have given him that once and he is already doing so much better.

**oh...don't worry this picture is a happy TJ picture. This is him smiling really big and winking**

Update on the Little Dude

For all of the people wanting to have an update on TJ's fever. He fought it all weekend. Up and down constantly. He was acting fine but just had a fever and runny nose. We kept him inside most of the weekend and really got some good use out of his vaporizer. He's doing great now and hasn't had any fever for the last 3 days.

Thank you for all the prayers! They were answered and God definitely has His hand on this little guy.

Poor Little Guy

Well I get off work and call Tim on my way home to get the news that TJ is not looking to hot and laying on Tim's chest. note this is not normal behavior, he hasn't slept on us since he was like maybe a month old. The daycare said that he seemed kinda out of it today and later in the afternoon he was feeling feverish. I told Tim I was going to stop and get some more medicine for him, if we needed it. When I got home they were both laying on the couch. TJ looked up and groaned at me. Poor baby. He yells, claps and gets all excited when I walk in. I gave him some medicine and got his vaporizer read. His temp was at 102. We just laid him down so hopefully his fever will go down before dinner time. Say a little prayer for him. I hate to see him like this.
He's awake in this picture and playing with his blanket. He didn't move when I went in to take the picture

Christmas In Arkansas

Christmas Day we met my parents for breakfast at IHOP then hit the road to Arkansas. We had a great drive up there and pulled into there drive way around 4:30.  We had Christmas dinner that night and opened our "Christmas Eve" gifts,
Here are a couple pictures from "Christmas Eve"
Now for "Christmas Morning" we  had an appointment to take family pictures at 1 so we needed to open presents, eat breakfast, get everyone ready and be in Fayetteville 30 minutes away. So we were up at 7 am opening presents.

Reading his book

His guitar...we heard this guitar all weekend. He figured out how to hold it while crawling. down side was the song his hand was on while he was crawling kept starting over.

He sat there and put all the blocks back in the cookie jar.
Here are some random pictures after that morning. He got a massive cold and was sick the whole trip. He was still a great trooper and wonderful little boy.

Get Over It!

Well getting over it. HEHE. Ya’ll thought I was going to write a venting blog. Not so much just one to tell you how the Leckie household is getting over being sick.
Friday night after dinner we were just watching TV and hanging out when I started to feel kind of nauseous. I took something to hopefully feel better. I went to bed not feeling to hot but was too tired to stay awake and deal with it so I fell asleep. Well I woke up at 6 puking and did so all day. It was lovely. We were suppose to go to our friend Mike’s birthday dinner at Joe T’s. I love it there but we never go unless it is with Mike and Heather. I told Tim he could go by himself with TJ but that sentence right there made him not want to go. Going out in public with just him and TJ doesn’t not sound fun to him. He just isn’t used to it and didn’t want to go all the way out to fort worth to do it again. Plus I really wanted him there. I’m kind of needy when I’m sick. I get bored and want someone to talk to and get me things so I don’t have to move. It drives Tim crazy but he does a pretty good job taking care of me. I didn’t sleep well at all that night probably because I slept off and on all day.
Sunday I was all achy and now with a cold. Last week while I was with TJ he started to get snotty and I thought it was just because of teething and was treating him as such. Well turns out that little guy had a cold and kindly passed it on to me. Nice of him huh? Well so after recovering from blowing chunks all day on Saturday I now had this dang cold.  Sunday I slept through 90 percent of the Cowboys game. It was wonderful and I woke up feeling great. Again I was in the same situation I was in the night before laying there not being able to go to sleep that night.

Monday was the day of blowing my nose every 15 minutes which just led to the people here sighing every time I picked up a tissue. I was never once asked how my vacation was or anything….Okay there was the extent of my venting.  Monday night I drank lots of hot teas and I slept wonderful even had a hard time getting up and could have been late to work.
Tuesday I finally get up and discover while I’m trying to wake Gracee up to take her outside that I have NO voice. Secretly I rejoice that means I don’t have to talk to anyone at work but then sigh because that means no one will be able to hear me so I know my throat will hurt even more when I get off. After more hot tea and a good night sleep. I start the next day
Wednesday my voice did a lot better and I was back to answering my phone calls. Feeling a lot better but still going through lots of tissues.
Thursday the use of tissues has dwindled down to barely any and my voice is about 90 percent back.  I’m praying by tomorrow that I’ll be doing 100 percent better.
Enough about me I know ya’ll are dying to know if Tim and TJ are doing okay. Since originally TJ was the one who gave me the cold. TJ is recovering nicely. His sleep and eating hasn’t changed and he just has had a runny nose. The last couple of days he has started coughing but I know that is because of the drainage so we have been constantly been sucking the stuff out. (gross huh?) Tim, Praise the Lord hasn’t had any signs of this. He’s been taking his vitamins everyday so we are praying he gets away clear and free from this.
And to finish it off her is a picture of TJ last night. Doesn’t he look the cutest in his silly outfit?
And then finally my friend Heather sent this to me this morning. There little girl Alexis had a fall party at daycare today and she went as a ballerina. The fun part is the tootoo is Heather's when she was little. wanted to share it because I just love Lexi.
