Double Date Night

We decided that we wanted to go to dinner and a movie so we made our dates the kids. TJ was my date and Anna was Tim's. Fuzzy's was on the menu for dinner and Madagascar 3 came out last week so we took the kids to see it. We were worried about Anna but she was so excited and sat there almost the entire movie. She got up at the end but just danced in front of our seats.

Great Memories

The date even continued until the next morning when we went for breakfast.

Rings

I see this picture and I remember being in a room with our wedding party right after we left the sanctuary. We had just run down the hall with complete smiles on our face. The ceremony just ended but the reception hadn't started yet. This picture shows how with all the excitement going on around just holding hands together brings us both peace. You can see that right?

Our photographer came down there with us and this was one of two pictures that were taken in that room.

The other picture that was taking is a picture of Tim and my dad hugging. Super sweet picture. But I'm not here to show that picture. Maybe I'll show it another day.

Anyways....

Love you Honey!

My Loves...

Well at least two of them.

The other was sound asleep next to these two when I took this picture.

I Love You Forever...

I was going through Timothy and I's wedding photos and wanted to take a quick second to tell my hubby that I love him

Special Day!

Today I would consider one of the most important days in my life! Really? Why?

Because today is the day 26 years ago that my wonderful husband was born! Without him my life would be nothing as I know it. There have been events that have happened in the duration of the last twenty-six years that threatened his life. He has overcome those with the protection of God and he is still kicking!

He is such a great man. He is a worshiper, he is a loyal and faithful servant. He is great father to our son Timothy Jr and our daughter Anna. He walks TJ through a prayer every night and is a pro at getting him to sleep on the nights TJ can't calm down. And to top it all off he is a wonderful husband. He loves me unconditionally and makes me feel so loved everyday.

I met Timothy in elementary school, became best friends with him in high school, dated him once we graduated and married him 2 years after high school. My life with him has been wonderful and I love showering him with love on his special day.

This year, since everything has happened with the house I couldn't do much so we decided we would go out to eat to celebrate. I decided to make it a surprise and invite all our friends and family to join in on the fun. Everyone was there waiting when we got to the restaurant and he was completely surprised.

Tim is Funny

All seriousness aside. Tim is a very funny guy, but give him a concussion, a little pain meds and no short term memory and he is HILARIOUS!

The whole time he had me and my mom rolling.

At first he just went with the flow and kept asking me what was wrong then once we got to the hospital he got a little quiet and nervous about answering the questions wrong. In triage he asked what was going on every few mins and kept asking about Carlos (the guy who was helping Tim with his bike) and I decided to say that Carlos' English was getting pretty broken when he called me out there. Tim just laughed so hard at that so I told my mom I would use that again. I was able to say that statement another 4-5 times with Tim laughing so hard. Then he started to ask if his English was getting broken when he called me out there. Ok so that statement was done. On to the next...

Any random time we were with a nurse or assistant he would ask me if I told them his medical history. In a room with a cleaning person and he would ask, when he's going into the bathroom and he would ask me, when someone was bandaging his head and he would ask me.

When his nurse first came in the room and was asking Tim a series of questions:
what's your birthday? October 3rd 1984
what day is it? .....
what month is it? ....
who is the president?.... he would laugh and just say I don't want to answer. The nurse got really loud and yelled "WHO IS THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA?" .....Bush?
What year is it? 2010

She asked him what he was allergic to and when he told her and he ended with ...and needles. All she said was too bad you already got one of those. She went along right with him. Anytime he mouthed off to her she would do it right back. Anytime he would ask random things I would tell him he told the nurse that and he would laugh and say man I'm funny even when I don't mean to be.

After about 3 hours at the hospital I started asking him questions about our life. I asked him if we had done any traveling and he said with a question aren't we going to go to Israel or did we already go? I said we went do you remember who we went with....He said Tom and Kay, He couldn't remember any other names except the tour guide. Very strange

I then asked him if anything else exciting was going on in our life he just looked at me with a blank stare. So I told him we were pregnant. He said "oh wow, congrats, wait...are we excited about this?" so I told him we were and told him how far along we are then he asked if I could tell him exactly what happened with his head. I would tell him and then ask if he remembered what I just told him and he just smiled and said no. So I would tell him again about us being pregnant. Then he yelled at me and said this is how your telling me and when I said no we have been pregnant for 14 week then he would yell again and say....and your just now telling me?!?!? Oh goodness we went through this about 10 times.

I think he started to realize he was asking the same question over and over again because I would get busy updating people and I would ignore his questions. So he started the questions with... "Can I ask a dumb question?....can you tell me exactly what happened?" If I needed to get on the phone or talk to a nurse or doctor I actually had to tell him to be quiet and no questions for a little bit. He would then whisper the questions to my mom. HAHA.

At one point he asked me have I been in and out? uh NO! I wish.

If I was worried I would tell him just to pray in tongues...he would look at me all worried and say, "am I going to be ok?"

He wouldn't let me cry at all anytime I would get quiet he would yell at me to stop that and asked me if I'm going to be ok? ha at one point he asked if he needed to drive.

The doctor came by to check on him and I said he is still in a lot of pain could he get more medicine or will it be a prescription? So he asked Tim if he wanted him to get him some more pain meds and Tim just got loud and said yeah that would be nice. I just apologized to the doctor as he walked away. He never came back again. HAHA

We got to my parents house and my dad was up and waiting for an update to send out. So Tim asked him about 10 times if he knew what happened. My dad was smart he just said "I don't know" then he was quiet for a bit then would ask my dad again what happened.

He was trying to catch up on his facebook and twitters and he probably read it all 3 or 4 times. He would read some of them aloud would ask questions about what people were writing about him:
Do I have short term memory loss?
Did I get stapples?
Did I fall?
Am I disoriented?
Did I get stapples?
Do I have short term memory loss?

agh!!!

I finally had him in bed but he kept reading facebook and thought he hadn't checked it yet because he couldn't remember anything anybody had said he was reading it like it was fresh new information every time.

This is only a glimpse of everything he was saying and doing.

Worst Day of My LIfe

Tuesday of last week was turning out to be a normal day. We both got home watched a show and Tim was going to work on his bike while I did a little cleaning and did the bills.

TJ was out there with Tim and Carlos, this is normal because TJ likes to watch them work on Tim's bike. I went out and checked on TJ and he was playing good and both of the guys were leaned over looking under the gas tank of the bike. So I went back inside.

While I was sitting here doing the bills, my name was called literally 5 minutes later there was an urgent call but I thought it was Timothy. When I answered "yeah" all I got was "come here!" At that point I  knew it wasn't Tim but I thought the urgency was because of TJ.  I thought something had happened to TJ and Tim was dealing with him.

The urgency was Timothy. He was sitting in the chair with a white shirt at his head. Carlos just kept saying standing, fell, and I don't know what happened. He was just saying this over and over again. I thought he was saying that the bike fell on him, because of the last thing I saw was them both under the bike. So I asked how it fell and he said "no, he fell."

I kept looking at his head and in complete shock of what was going on. I looked at his head a few times and all I could see when I pulled the shirt back was the blood bubbling out of the wound. I almost passed out myself.

Carlos told me that he has passed out and I thought the quickest way to get him treated would be to take him to the urgent care right by our house. By this point he has already asked me 3 times what has happened. I unload the Timothys and get inside and they tell me since he passed out we have to go to the ER....I sooooo did not know this. I meet my parents a block from there and my mom gets in the car to go with me to the hospital.

She now knew how serious this was..Tim asked us what had happened about 20 times on the way to the ER.

I get help to unload Tim and he gets seen right away. The bleeding has stopped and this is what it looked like at this point:
Around 7 o'clock
The Doctor came and talked to Tim and was trying to get him to answer questions but he couldn't get any of the answers. He knew things like his birthday and what year but didn't know what month or day it was, who the president was, or that we were pregnant.

He had an EKG done....this came back normal
He had a CAT scan done...this came back normal with no damage done and his brain looked good. They couldn't tell what had caused it so they decided to release him after he got stitched up. They also recommended we go see a neurologist.

Ok. The next few couple of pictures I'm going to post are not the prettiest. I have a week stomach and I can handle them but proceed with caution.

At around 11 they took the bandage off and were going staple his cuts shut. Since the swelling was so massive they had to stitch it shut. He got about 6-7 stitches and was released at around midnight.

Ouch!
He has two cuts. He actually bounced on the concrete and hit it twice
We decided to stay at my parents house so I could go to work on Wednesday and my mom could watch both Timothys.

Timothy woke up really early and I asked him if he knew what happened and he was able to tell me things I had told him hundreds of times the night before. I couldn't go back to sleep I was so excited that he was already remembering things. His memory was on about a 2 minute cycle. I was asked "can you tell me exactly what happened"  and then another series of about ten questions that would spark after I answered those. But they were all the same questions.

He went to our family doctor on Wednesday and was cleared for light duty at work, no machinery and no driving. He was also cleared from the company doctor on the same restrictions. He couldn't be cleared for normal work and driving until he saw the neurologist. The earliest appointment he could get was for this Thursday afternoon. We are praying for favor and a quick return to full work.

He is still experiencing some pain and being tired from the concussion but is progressing nicely with his recovery. Thank you so much for your prayers and thoughts during this time. It has been very scary.

I will post and update later and I'll also post a blog about all the funny things Tim was saying and doing during the ER stay. He had my mom and I rolling and many of the nurses and doctors would come by just to see what he was saying. His nurse even said he was her best patient of the the shift.

Happy Birthday Timothy!!!

Happy Birthday Timothy!

I love you and I hope you have a fantastic year!

This birthday is a significant birthday being that it is his 25th birthday. He is a quarter of a century.

Tim is such a wonderful father and husband. I love spending time with him. We laugh so much when we are together. We started out his birthday with being at Midnight Yell. And he gets to spend all day today tailgating and going to a football game. Well not any football game. We are going to the Texas A&M vs. Arkansas game at cowboys stadium.

This year, his birthday present from me is a ticket to the U2 concert. But since I bought that a while ago I wanted to do something for him on his actual birthday.  SO...I made him a cheesecake. Its his favorite and I knew I would need to figure out how to make one. Well I made it and he LOVED it.

Happy Birthday Babe and have a great day!

Anniversary Weekend

We had such a wonderful time this weekend. I think we figured out that we had exactly 24 hours of "us" time. It was so nice to hang out and have fun. We didn't talk about Teej all Friday. We started talking about him on Saturday but only a bit and we decided to get him a little something because we missed him.

Friday: I got off work at 4 and I went straight home where Tim was all ready to go with the car loaded. We got to Fort Worth at about 5:15ish. We stayed at the Hilton. Now for a little history this used to be called the Texas Hotel. This is the last placed that JFK stayed. On each floor of the hotel right outside the elevator were different pictures of his stay. It was pretty cool. Oh then we found out later that we were there during JFK's birthday. CRAZY!

here is the picture that is on our floor. It's during a press conference right before he went to Dallas

here is the hotel now.

Once we got settled we headed out to eat at MiCocinas. It was pretty good but we decided next time we'll probably go somewhere else.
We walked around town a bunch. We went to Billy Miner's, Flying Saucer, Marble Slab Creamery, and went to a movie. It was so fun to just walk around, talk and have a good time with eachother.

Saturday: We got to sleep in and then headed to "breakfast" at noon and then caught a matinee closer to our area of town.

It was so relaxing and very much needed.

Love you Timothy!!!

Anniversary

Tim and I's anniversary is coming up at the end of this month. I can't believe we have been married 4 years. I was thinking back the other day while we were watching a Mav's game how much has changed. Yeah I know a Mavericks game what made me think of our relationship during a Mavericks game. Well it just so happens that our first "date" was watching a Mav's game together. Tim was invited to watch the game at the Benjamin's house and he took me along with him. It was fun.

In the last six years this is what has happened...in a nutshell:
started dating
watch a mavs game
we get a fish (George)
got engaged
Tim moved out of his parents house into our apartment
we get married
I move in
we get another fish (George II)
we get a dog
we buy a house
we move into the house
we get another fish (George III)
we get pregnant
we have a baby (TJ)
watch a mavs game.

See how life takes you around and then brings you right back.

We are celebrating by having an evening out without the boy. It will be fun and I'll post another blog about that later.

Oh My Dear T.J.

Last night he got to spend the evening with Tim while I went to my class at church. When I left he was laying on the couch next to Tim drinking his bottle and be going to bed about 45 minutes after he was finished. Once I got to class I received a message from Tim saying he fell asleep while he was eating so he put him in bed.
After I got home Tim told me that once he laid him in there that he finished his bottle and was wide awake so Tim went and brought him into the living room to play and went to bed at normal time. Since he fell asleep at regular time at in the living room on Tim he just took him and laid him down again.
This morning at 5:20 TJ is in his bed talking away!! When I peaked in there to see if he was okay. He was looking over his bed smiling real big at me (he learned how to pull up in his bed YESTERDAY) and wide awake. When I went to lay him back down and give him his pacifier I noticed that he was soaked from the middle of his chest to his knees. His diaper had leaked bad. Well after wiping him down, getting him cleaned up, and changing his diaper he just wanted to play. He just sat on the floor next to the couch and played while I did my quiet time and sat in front of the mirror in my room while I got ready.
He had a really good time but it was so different him being awake while I’m getting ready.

Happy Birthday Bunny!

Today is my hubby’s birthday. He is 24 today. Last year for his birthday he thought we were just going to be sitting at home alone but I got our good friends Nick and Kelly along with Mike, Heather and Lexi to come over. Tim had just changed and when he was coming back into the kitchen the door bell rang. He was so excited.

This has been an amazing year for him. Last year at this time he was preparing for the production “You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown” He played Schroeder and during the rehearsals we made some new friends one being TJ’s Uncle Cody. He got a new truck this year, brand spankin’ new. He loves it. He got some good raises and a great promotion. He is leading worship at church and going to be stepping into some amazing things that God has in store for him. He became a Dad this year and is absolutely amazing with TJ. They play together and cuddle together on the couch. There has even been many nights that TJ won’t settle down and go to sleep after we put him to bed and after me going in there and trying Tim will go in and talk to TJ and then he goes to sleep.
Tim is a wonderful husband to me he is always put my best interest at heart and will do anything to make me happy. He is always trying to make life at home a happier place. He helps with TJ, he’ll get up in the middle of the night and get him changed and ready to go so he can eat and then brings him to me. He understands the importance of praying over TJ every day.

Happy Birthday Baby!!! We love you and I hope you have a wonderful day.

I Miss My Hubby

Tim is going to be away from home till Wednesday night.

He is getting more responsibilities at work and part of the new job he’ll need training on. He is over on the other side of the DFW airport at the Marriot. The training started this morning and will go to Wednesday Night. I stayed with him last night but it wouldn’t been very finically smart for me to drive there, to my parents to drop TJ off then to work. We also have Gracee in the mix, she stayed with my parents last night just so I could have another night with Tim. It was nice staying away from home for a night.

Even though Tim won’t be there for the next few nights it will be great sleeping in my own bed again. I like my bed with my flat pillows. I know exactly how to arrange my pillows to be the most comfortable and when I stay in a hotel with fancy pillows it takes me a bit to get settled and finally to sleep.

Well that’s about it I just wanted to share how I miss him and how I’ll miss him.

Love you baby, we’ll miss you!!!

Celebrating Our Love...

Well as most of you know by my last blog that Tim and I had our 3 year anniversary this last week. During our trip to Fredericksburg to see my grandparents some kind of stomach virus hit Tim Monday afternoon. He was fighting it until Thursday night which means he was sick on our anniversary....huge bummer. My parents were going to take us out to Cheesecake Factory for family night. Tim was really doing bad that night smells were really bothering him so he knew he wouldn't be able to go to a restaurant. My parents felt really bad that I was going to be eating ramon noodle (all we had in our house) by myself. So they gave me some cash so I could get some sonic to eat by myself.

Tim was feeling better and back to work on Friday. We decided to go to Cheesecake factory Friday night instead. Before we went out we had to get our new truck delivered to our house and get the papers signed. Okay I guess there is a story in that too. Tim's old truck was getting 12 MPG and we needed out of that ASAP since the gas prices aren't getting any better. So we got into a 2008 Texas Edition Crew Cab Chevy Silverado. Its really pretty and I'm sure Tim will post pics on his myspace. We went to Cheesecake Factory that night with my parents and my sister Amy. Loads of fun and we had some amazing cheesecake.

Saturday Night we had planned for TJ to go spend the night at my parents house. So we got over to their house right before six so I could feed him and then go. After we left there our date started. We met Nick and Kelly back at our house so we could all ride together and of course Tim wanted them to ride in his new truck. Once we got to Texas Roadhouse we ended up having to wait about 45 mins to get seated it was a mob in there. Once we got seated we had some fabulous steak and beer. After we left Roadhouse we headed off to Cowboys to see Jason Aldean. It was a great concert and we had a lot of fun but all us old married parents left at about 12:30 butt tired.

It turned out to be a great anniversary and we got to spend it with our good friends nick and Kelly.

and to top off the evening we got to go home and get in bed and not worry about when TJ would wake up.

The Life of Tim and Katie

Well Tim and I made it three years. A lot has happened in 3 years and I love him more than I did the day I married him.

Here is a glimpse of the years:

Year One:

Our first apartment was in North Arlington right by Hurricane Harbor. It was a great large apartment that we learned to love. I got my first real job at an office and we met our really good friends Mike and Heather there (Heather was one of my only friends). This job made life more manageable than my blockbuster job could offer. We took lots of weekend trips to South Texas and Louisiana to see family. We spent lots of time with our family and friends just handing out and going to fun events.

Year Two:

On our year anniversary we went down to College Station on the Friday spent time with Josh and Andrea and on the way back we took our time stopping at the Dr. Pepper Museum, outlet malls and random stops. On Sunday we went out to the Lake with some friends and hand fun tubing all day. In June this year I started working at the same company Tim works at PPG. This is when we became really good friends with Nick and Kelly. Tim decided to share them with me. Lots of good times with them. In July my brother got married and we all went on a cruise to Cozumel. Once we got back from the cruise we went and picked up the new additions to our family, Gracee and George 3. We got George when we were just dating and he died the July the first year we were married and then George 2 died while we were on our cruise. In the fall of this year we decided we wanted to get   into a house so we started our search for a house. Just so happens the first house we went and looked at was the house we fell in love with. We got moved in by January 18th. Mamaw Hughes was diagnosed with the worst kind of Leukemia and started treatment. Cedar Pointe Church where Bill was pastoring and we were going to church decided to shut the doors. This is when we started going to Prince of peace. Tim started leading worship and getting more involved in the ministries. We found out in March of this year that Sarah and Rick were pregnant and were going to have a baby by the end of the year. Tim and I decided to start trying to get pregnant. In April Tim had knee surgery and was in recovery for 6 weeks.

Year Three:

Mike and Heather's baby Alexis was born July 3rd. We found out we were pregnant August 9th. My brother Josh graduated from Texas A&M and got commissioned in the Army as a 2nd Lt that same weekend in August. Amy started her first semester at A&M. In September after months of  fighting and going into remission Mamaw passed away. We love and miss you Mamaw. On Tim's birthday in October we found out that we were having a boy. At the end of October Tim Schroeder in "You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown" this is when we became good friends with Cody. Who TJ will call Uncle Cody. Piper Elizabeth was born on December 29th. Months of pregnancy in there of me getting bigger and bigger. TJ came exactly two weeks early weighing in at 8lbs 15oz and 20 inches long. Rick and Sarah got a job offer in Little Rock and after a while of thinking about it decided that is where God wanted them next. they moved at the end of April. Bill and Debra were offered a head Pastor job in Bentonville Arkansas and headed up there in May. My sister-in-law graduated from Texas A&M and they are now getting ready to move to New York on Josh's first assignment. We remodeled our bathrooms with new tile in shower and floor and new counter tops. This past weekend we went down to Fredericksburg where my grandparents live. They got to meet TJ for the first time along with my Aunt and Uncle and cousins. We spent some time out in Lukeinback, shopping and relaxing for the weekend. On the way back we stopped at Dublin, and got some Dr. Pepper.

Well that's the last three years of our lives. Full of fun times and hard times. We cherish our relationships with family and friends and look forward to the memories we are going to have this year. Even more fun ahead with TJ growing and developing like crazy.

I love you Tim! You are the greatest!
